Artist Statement: I am going to be photographing people’s dogs some still portraits but some in movements ex: catching a treat, running around, catching a ball. I am going to do this in an attempt to capture the genuine reaction to something. I began thinking about this project by experimenting with things in their natural environment however it began to form natural/authentic reactions instead. I am using animals because humans don’t often give natural reactions when they’re asked to be photographed.

Photographic skills/techniques you will learn, refine, and/or master as part of this project: I am looking to refine my basic camera trinity (shutter speed, DoF, ISO). I will also need to move away from a single shot setting and multiple bursts while I’m shooting to capture my subject in motion
